Hello my name is Aine Gale and I am the Principal. I have worked at Haydon Wick Primary school for 17 years and have just taken on the role of Principal this year. I feel very proud and honoured to be in this new role as it is an exciting time of change for the school as we have just become an academy as part of The White Horse Federation. I am passionate about continuing to build on the good practice in improving standards and engaging the community further to explore the wonders of learning and making sure that all children at Haydon Wick Primary School achieve success. I believe school should be a fun, creative place where pupils can learn in a secure environment and be willing to take risks when trying out new ways of learning. Pupils need to be encouraged to develop themselves, through self-motivation and reflection on what, how and why they are learning. I believe that this can be done by continuing to embed the Values Based Education that is such an important part of Haydon Wick Primary School so that pupils take greater personal responsibility for their learning and behaviour.

At Haydon Wick we strive to give the best to our pupils. We are very fortunate to have an experienced and dedicated staff (many who have served the school for many years) who work hard to give the children a range of opportunities in the classroom and beyond. At Haydon Wick we have high expectations for the children and we want them to be the best they can academically and as a person. We want our children to be happy, safe and enjoy all their learning opportunities.

We welcome the involvement of parents sharing in and contributing to the education of their children and to the life of the school.

The next school year is going to be a busy one as there are many changes happening to education at the moment like teaching the new National curriculum, assessing without levels and free school dinners for KS1. While it is important to move forward we also will aim to hold onto those things that work well and benefit the children.
