Lisa has more than 30 years’ experience of working in education, counselling, and training and has gained many titles in the process, including BA(Comb)Hons, PGCE, Adv. Dip. Integrative Counselling, L7 Dip. Counselling Children & Adolescents, and MBACP (Accred).
She is director of I’m OK, You’re OK, a counselling and training organisation, and practises as a therapist and supervisor, alongside delivering independent specialist CPD training in counselling children and young people. She is also the very fortunate mum of three beautiful young adults in their twenties.
For the first 19 years of her working life, Lisa taught French in the comprehensive school sector, eventually becoming an Advanced Skills Teacher, undertaking research into boys' underachievement and delivering a satellite CILT National Centre for Languages teacher training programme in Cornwall.
Life events then prompted a decision to re-train as a therapeutic counsellor, and from 2007 onwards Lisa developed a trusted school-based service providing counselling for under-16s and emotional well-being training for staff, with a small team of counsellors in primary and secondary schools.
In 2018, she relocated to Wiltshire, so as to be able to widen and develop much-needed CPD training in counselling under-18s to more therapists, and hasn’t looked back! Lisa is loving walking the hillforts and forests of South Wilts and is very excited to have joined TWHF Board of Trustees, in the hope of being able to do what she can to help support the mental health and emotional well-being of the children, young people, parents, and staff who form its community.
