Welcome to the
CEO Book Club 2020
Welcome to this year’s CEO Book Club, which is now in its third year of being.
The purpose of these events is to meet as peers, but with the addition of a potential leader of the future to share and explore ideas around a particular theme. This year, we will be looking at “Creators and Innovators” and how they have been the key drivers in revolutionising their fields of work.
More important, though, is the subtext of such meetings, in which we meet and work with colleagues from across the organisation and from different sectors of our business. It’s about better understanding each other, and The White Horse Federation, through shared experiences, creating a shared ambition for everyone we work with and the communities we serve.
I really do hope you enjoy the day.

This Year's Theme
Creators and innovators: these are the people who have made leaps and bounds in whatever field of work they excel in; these are the people who have made things happen, made others think differently, and who have challenged conventional thought, turning the abstract into the norm. They are the pioneers who take risks, act creatively, and innovate new ways of doing things or looking at situations.
In times of austerity, when things are tough, it’s easy not to focus on the ‘twinkle factor’, which often turns mediocre, vanilla teaching into those moments which young people will remember forever.
This year’s book club is about inspiring you to look at things differently, to explore new ideas and ways of working to ensure those golden ‘twinkle moments’ happen as a matter of course in our teachers’ lessons because that’s what The White Horse Federation does. We create, we innovate, and we take measured risks to ensure that the invitation to learn is always compelling to our pupils and students.
