Anna Willcox Joins Bowerhill Primary School as Interim Principal
Mrs Anna Willcox officially joined Bowerhill Primary School as their new interim principal, following the departure of Rachel Skates.
Mrs Willcox was previously principal at Forest & Sandridge Primary School, where she spent 15 successful years in the role.
In a letter sent to parents, Mrs Willcox said she was inspired by “the incredibly hard working, dedicated staff, all of whom play a key role in providing the very best we can for children.”
The new principal wrote: “I am determined to build on the progress that Rachel Skates made during her tenure in creating a successful, vibrant, and nurturing environment for our students and staff. My aim is to put students at the centre of everything we do so they can learn, achieve, have fun, and grow into exceptional young people.”
Before joining our school, Mrs Willcox has been in education for 25 years. Most recently, she enjoyed a successful stint as interim principal at Moredon Primary School.
Speaking about her appointment, she said: “During my temporary post at Bowerhill, I am committed to ensuring a smooth and successful transition to the new substantive head once appointed.”
“Through dedication, hard work, and kindness, I’m sure we’ll continue to build on the previous good work of my predecessor and continue to move the school forward.”
Asked about her experience working within The White Horse Federation, Mrs Willcox said: “The Federation provides excellent CPD and leadership support at all levels, which has helped me succeed in my different roles within the trust.”
Simon Cowley, Director of Primary Schools at The White Horse Federation, spoke about the appointment: “During her time at the federation to date, Anna’s wealth of experience and knowledge has made a significant impact, and this includes her successful period at Forest & Sandridge. Having worked in Melksham for over 15 years, Annais very familiar with the local area, and I am confident she will ensure continued improvement at Bowerhill during this transition period.”
