Chris Neal Appointed as Interim Principal at Haydon Wick
Following the announcement of Mrs Aine Gale’s departure from Haydon Wick Primary School after over 25 years of dedicated service, we’re delighted to welcome Mr Chris Neal as Interim Principal of the Swindon School, starting in September.
Mr Neal has extensive experience as a teacher and in school senior leadership teams. He is currently acting as head of school at St Mary & All Saints CE Primary School in Reading where he has overseen an exceptional development of the school.
Mr Neal, asked about the appointment said: “I feel incredibly privileged to be given the opportunity to lead Haydon Wick. It is a wonderful school that genuinely puts the child at the heart of everything it does.”
The new interim principal continued: “In the short term, I’m very much looking forward to getting to know the staff, children and parents. Longer term, I’m keen to look for opportunities to enhance our provision, identify areas where we could do better, and listen to pupils, parents and staff who will help shape that vision. I’m very keen that as a school community we are all involved in the process.”
During his time at the school the recruitment process for a new permanent principal and Mr Neal will be invited to apply for the permanent role as part of interviews taking place at the end of the year.
Simon Cowley, Director of Primary Schools at The White Horse Federation, thanked Mrs Gale for her work at the school: “For over 26 years, Aine Gale has delivered outstanding work and shown unwavering commitment to Haydon Wick Primary School. During this time, she has been a pillar of the community and given the pupils a wonderful primary education, ably supporting them in readiness for secondary school.”
