Conrad St James Hotel Donates 60 PCs to Help Disadvantaged Families at TWHF Schools
Earlier last month, our CEO Dr. Nick Capstick OBE launched a campaign to provide computer devices to help children at our schools continue learning from home.
Since the beginning of the campaign, the federation has received hundreds of usable devices, as well as a significant amount in cash donations. One of the most impressive single contributions was from Conrad St James Hotel in London, who offered 60 fully functional PCs.
After travelling to London to pick up the computers, the federation IT team got to work refitting the computers and replacing the hard drives so that they could be safely used by our pupils.
Although our schools are partially reopening over the current and coming months, most year groups will remain at home for the foreseeable future and even for those children who will attend school for two days a week, home learning will remain a crucial part of maintaining their education.
However, if you don’t have access to a computer, you don’t have access to home learning resources. That’s why donations such as this from Conrad St James Hotel, and from the wonderful members of the White Horse Federation Community, are so important.
If you’ve got a computer, tablet, or smartphone that you don’t use any more, contact donations@TWHF.org.uk. If you would like to donate cash to support the initiative, please visit the communities page on your school’s website.
