Southbroom Infants’ School Rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted
Everyone at The White Horse Federation is delighted to report that, after its first inspection since joining the trust, Southbroom Infants’ School has received a ‘good’ rating by Ofsted.
Southbroom Infants’ School joined our family in 2017, and we’ve been really impressed with the high standards in place at the school. We are so pleased that this excellent school has been recognised as such by Ofsted, and we are proud to have such a great school as part of our organisation. Inspectors highlighted the welcoming atmosphere at the school. They said: “Positive relationships are a valued and palpable characteristic of the school. Pupils say that bullying is not something that they worry about.”
In January, a new principal, Joanne Jardim, was appointed at the school. Although she has only been in the role for a short period, the inspectors praised the impact she was having, saying: “The recently appointed headteacher has set out the high expectations she expects for all pupils. There is a renewed optimism, a clear sense of direction and an ambition for pupils to achieve more.”
We are also proud that the report recognised the positive relationship between the school and our trust. The report states that “trust leaders and the local governing body work effectively together”, and that “staff welcome the expertise that the trust brings to support them and hone their skills”. The Ofsted report comes as Southbroom Infants’ School is expanding it’s nursery provision, building a fantastic new facility over the summer. We hope that this hugely positive news gives everyone at the school a real boost as they move forward together. We’d like to applaud everyone at Southbroom Infants’ School for providing a fantastic environment for any child to start their school life.
