The Ridgeway Receives Glowing Praise in Ofsted Report
After an inspection back in early March, Ofsted has published their latest report on The Ridgeway School. We are proud and delighted to announce that, once again, The Ridgeway has been recognised as a ‘good’ school.
Furthermore, inspectors also stated that: “There is enough evidence of improved performance to suggest that the school could be judged outstanding if we were to carry out a section 5 inspection now.” According to Ofsted procedure, inspectors will carry out a full inspection within two years.
Over the past few years, under the leadership of Principal James Povoas, The Ridgeway has become one of the best secondary schools and sixth form colleges in the Swindon area.
In their report, inspectors were glowing in their praise of the school, saying:
“The school has high expectations of its pupils and, consequently, they behave very well, both in lessons and during social times.”
We are happy to report that inspectors also praised The White Horse Federation, noting that:
“Staff feel that the trust has brought significant benefits to the school. The opportunities for networking and professional learning have increased. Staff feel that there are excellent opportunities for their career development.”
Everyone at The White Horse Federation is proud to support a school community as talented, ambitious, and hard working as The Ridgeway’s.
This news has been a real positive to reflect on during such a difficult time. We’d like to congratulate everyone at The Ridgeway for making their school such an exceptional place to learn.
