TWHF Shares Computing Insight at NCCE Event
On Friday, one of The White Horse Federation’s excellent computing coordinators, Georgia Mercier, will be delivering a presentation at an event run by the National Centre for Computing Education (NCCE).
Georgia was invited to speak at the event by the British Computer Society, The Chartered Institute for IT. Her presentation will detail the teaching and impact of computer education at her school, The Croft Primary School, and across The White Horse Federation.
The event, which takes place at the British Computer Society’s (BCS) main offices in London, is part of a team away day and will be attended by members of the BCS, The Raspberry Pi Foundation, and STEM Learning.
Computer education and online safety are two extremely important areas of modern learning. At The White Horse Federation, we have placed significant emphasis on the teaching of these subjects across our schools. Georgia is one of the outstanding computing coordinators who have guided our emergence as a leader in this field.
Recently, we were recognised for our online safety work, as The White Horse Federation was the subject of a case study published in a book titled *Meet the Parents: How Schools Can Work Effectively with Families to Support Children’s Learning*.
Everyone at the federation is extremely proud that Georgia was personally invited to speak at Friday’s event, and we know that her presentation will be as well-received as her computer education lessons.
